Maxie Carpenter

A consortium: An association of two or more individuals or organizations with the objective of participating in a common activity or pooling their resources for achieving a common goal.

Maxie Carpenter is the Founder & Principal of The Leadership Consortium, an independent consultancy focused upon Leadership Development & Organizational Efficiency in both the for-profit and Nonprofit sectors.

Maxie had a 27-year career at Walmart, both in the field and in the corporate office, retiring in 2000 as Vice President of HR & Talent Development. He co-founded the State’s first Charter School and has been an Adjunct Professor in the Don Soderquist School of Business at John Brown University & The Sam Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. He taught multiple courses in both school’s Advanced Degree Programs that included Leading Change, Building Teams, Team Processes & Coalition Building, Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship, Foundations of Leadership, Mission-Vision-Values, Ethical Decisions in Organizations, and Production of Goods & Services.

Maxie’s authored several publications, including I Didn’t Ask You to Dance! I Asked You to Talk: A common sense, humorous and at times, spiritual approach to communication in a world obsessed with political correctness! and Managing Difficult People in the Workplace: A Practical Guide to Confronting Difficult People.
